Environmental Planning in Southeastern Connecticut 

One focus of SECOG’s regional planning work is the environment. SECOG staff leads various environmental planning initiatives such as brownfield revitalization and watershed protection. Staff also provides tools and resources to its member municipalities to protect environmental resources and incorporate sustainability principles into everyday practice. Some recent efforts include spreading awareness and promoting the adoption of electrical vehicles (EVs), encouraging solid waste management and composting practices, and supporting local sustainability efforts through the Sustainable CT program.
